The Barrington Farms Philosophy: fresh is best, all ingredients have to enhance a dog's wellbeing and no chemical preservatives.

Reilly in field

Reilly, our original inspiration.

In 1996 we set out to make dog food to help the health of one little dog, Reilly. She suffered with ear infections, chronic vomiting and bouts of pancreatitis for years. She was destined to go deaf and have more severe digestive problems. Medications stopped working. Over time we realized the commercial dog food we fed her contributed to her poor health. We switched foods. We tried every food on the market. Nothing helped.
We researched and started making our own food (chopping, dicing, grinding, cooking, canning, freezing, vacuum packaging and so on). Eventually we developed food that strengthened Reilly's health and allowed her overcome her problems and live a healthy and fulfilling life. I have over 20 years of experience in restaurant management and my husband, Maris, has been a chiropractor for 20 years. Our work experiences combined with our goal to provide the best nutrition to fulfill the true health potential in domesticated dogs led us to launch Barrington Farms Dog Food in September of 2010. We want to share what we've learned about dogs and dog food with you and your dogs.

Thank you, Jackee and Maris Ermansons

We've found these ingredients to be the most important for the health of your dog.

Raw Meat
RAW MEAT: Your dog's digestive system has some similarities to its wild cousins. It has strong digestive enzymes which protect it against harmful parasites and bacteria. Your dog is designed and needs to eat raw meats to get beneficial vitamins and nutrients to stay healthy. We use raw beef and turkey. We are continually researching the health benefits of different meats to find the healthiest types to include in our food.
Hemp Oil
ORGANIC HEMP OIL provides a 3:1 ratio of omega 3 to omega 6 fatty acids. It helps just about every part of the body:(heart, skin, digestive system, immune system, etc.) It has such amazing effects by naturally reducing inflammation in your dog's body. Reduce inflammation and have a healthier, happier dog. It is free of potential toxic contaminants commonly found in canine fish oil supplements. Compared to all other beneficial oils we've found it to be the most digestible and agreeable to our dogs.
RiceVeggieMix
HEALTHY FIBER: Our domesticated dogs pick up motor oil, pesticides, gasoline, fertilizers and all sorts of toxic chemical on their paws and coats and ingest them when they lick and clean themselves. Dogs need healthy fiber to keep their bowels moving to eliminate toxins.

Feeding Instructions
Always keep our food refrigerated. Mix the meat and fiber packs together. This mixture will come out to 1 1/4 cups of food.

You can start out by feeding your dog twice a day the following amounts:

< 10lbs. 1/4c
15-25lbs. 1/3c
25-35lbs. 1/2c
35-45lbs. 2/3c
25-55lbs. 3/4c
55-70lbs. 1c

Carefully observe your dog and adjust the quantity for your dog's weight, activity level and age. A dog with a healthy weight should have a narrowing waist between their rib cage and their hips. Also, when looking from a distance you should be able to see an outline of your dog's ribs.

Cost

Your cost for one unit, one meat and one fiber pack, is $4.50, including tax.

Using our current clients as an example, a typical 20 pound dog will consume 5 to 7 units every two weeks.
